"I am a member of a strong sorority..."
I often say this statement to myself.. I often say this statement because since I belong to a strong sorority, I am a strong woman of poise and purpose. I have purpose. This often gets lost in translation to me, but I have a purpose in this life.. I'm still struggling to find this purpose, but one of these days, I will find it.
It's hard to be a newlywed in today's soceity. Browsing through friends on Facebook, it's crazy to see how many of them are changing their married names back to their maiden names and changing their relationship status. It's discouraging to say the very least. Hubby and I have been married for a wonderful 39 days, and we plan to make it a lifetime. It's hard to see several young couples such as ourselves not make it through the struggles. When I see all of these changes taking place, I repeat the statement above. I am a mbmer of a strong sorority. And because of this, I am a better woman.
I am a better woman for myself, for my husband, and for our marriage.
Alpha Sigma Alpha is a part of my life, a part of my heart. Holding strong values is extemely important to me, and this is what Alpha Sigma Alpha has taught me to do.
"To fill my days with satisfying activity,
To find dominate beauty in art, literature, nature, and friends,
To know the peace and serenity of a divine faith,
To love life, and joyously live each day to its ultimate good,
This is my creed in Alpha Sigma Alpha."
I am lucky. I do know the peace and serenity of a divine faith. I am a Christian woman who knows that she is saved by the blood of Christ. I strive to live as such each day, and though I do not always succeed, He catches me when I fall... I strive to do His deeds every day in my life, because I believe that it is what you practice, and not what you preach..
Romans 2:6-7 - "[God] who will render to each person according to his deeds: to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;"
I love my husband. I love the the Lord. Our marriage is based in Him. He will see us through to the end.
Until next time....
